Walkabout Old Havana - Explore Art galleries and Museum's.
Our third day in Old Havana was another walkbout adventure where we whet wherever our hearts guided us. We would wandering in and out of Art galaries, musuem's historical displays, 1519 Restored Church & Monistary and a fort with the only draw bridge with mote in the America's. The history is amazing here, the art many styles that are new styles and interesting (from a world that definetly not influanced by Hollywood) and of course the history back to the 1500's. Old Havana is a world hearitage site and they have worked for many years to rebuild the old architecture to its original state. There is just about every style of European architecture from from 1500's to present day with some Russian influences thrown in just to make it (not interesting). But all and all this was the best part of our trip. Now off to Jamacia. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Suggestions.:
Bring a few bottles of water and maybe a snack as there is no stores to buy anything. Change pesos / USD for coups which is approx. $1.1 USD = 1 coup (Cuba Tourist Currency). You get into most art exibitions and musuems for free or under $5 coups. Bring a geotracker and plan your trip. The buildings are tall and you can get lost when wandering realy easy. You can get back to the ship with a geotracker easily.
